In Virtual Machine Properties, Ressources.
In Memory / Ressource Allocation,
What is the utility of Limit or Unlimited ?
Is it usefull ? Which cases ?
We have unlimited selected, does it mean that Windows 2003
is able to use the memory it wants ?
We try to tun our VM for Memory Allocation on Windows 2003...
Thanks for any idea.
Limit is a cap on the consumption in megabytes of the virtual machine. Use this Setting if this VM almost always consumes a lot of RAM.... if it does, it may not be a good candidate for virtualisation.
Reservation is the amount of memory reserved for this virtual machine. This VM's reserved memory cannot be donated to any other VM.... use this when a particular VM must have this amount of memory.
Shares: the more shares a VM has, the more times this VM will win if there is competition for memory. Use this if access to RAM is critical for this VM
