vmxnet not available on CentOS 5 after installing vmware-tools via yum

I created a CentOS 5 VM and then followed the instructions at http://www.vmware.com/pdf/osp_install_guide.pdf to install VMware tools. This appeared to have installed everything fine, however, when I add an enhanced vmxnet network adapter, it does not function.

lsmod | grep vmxnet does not return any results.

Any idea how to get this working when using the yum method for installing (and most importantly maintaining) vmware-tools.

I am using ESX 3.5 update 2.

Cheers,

Duncan

1) upgrade to 3.5u5

2) install VMware Tools native way, Guest / Install VMware Tools, forget about yum
