'/var/lib/iscsi/vmkbindings' File

I removed a LUN datastore from ESX (completely deleted it from the SAN too). Although it is gone after I rescanned, it is still in the vmkbindings file (../var/lib/iscsi). If I want to re-create the volume (different size, but same name) on the SAN and bind it again, would it be safe to remove it from the vmkbindings file first? ESX won't get all confused about the situation will it?

The LUN is gone from the vmkdiscovery file.

And would this be all I need to do to completely remove all traces of the original LUN from ESX memory?

Thanks in advance.
