vNic to uplink mapping

Hi All,

Does anyone know an easy way to work out which uplink in a team a particular vNic is using? So i have a Port Group on a vSwitch with 3 uplinks and a bunch of vm's attached. Aside from looking at the L2 traffic at the physical switch layer or making assumptions from esxtop, can anyone think of an easy way to deduce this?

I know on a dvSwitch we can see this, but i am interested to know how i can do this for a standard vSwitch.

AFAIK there isnt really a way Smiley Sad

thoughts appreciated!

w.

In ESX 3.x it's hard to determine ( but not impossible ). In vSphere 4.0 it's pretty easy using ESXTOP:
