Hello,

It is failing trying to get information about the resource pools the VM belongs. DOesthis work for any other VM within the same resource pool (try a non RHEL VM). Is the USer/Password used within vcbMounter correct?

Dear Texiwill,

Thanks for you support.

But, i have any query.

First, i didn't setup the cluster. I have no cluster in my vc. So i am feel oddish when him show the info. of resource pools.

The second, i can back up other VMs as usually expcet this one.

The User/Password used within vcbMounter is "root".

Hi dear, could you plz provide much more info. to debug this issue?

Hello,

I backup Linux VMs all the time so it sounds like an issue within a Resource Pool. Remember every ESX host has at least 1 Resource pool. Take this in stages, can you make a snapshot of this VM, and then 'delete', which does a commit, the snapshot? If that fails then the issue is with the snapshot phase of the backup and that may be easier to debug. Also, what errors are within the vmware.log and /var/log/vmkernel log files when you issue the vcbMounter or snapshot commands.

Hi buddy, im back,

As you said, i created a snapshot for the VM, and delete all snapshots. all of this work fine.

But, when i backup the vm via VCB one more time, failed again... Sad....

The worst worst things is... I can not find anything useful in /var/log/vmkernel* or any error.

Re-register the VM, or Create a new VM, use the existing haed disk, is a good way? Or buddy, you have any other good idea?

Thanks advance!

Anything show in the vmware.log for the VM.

You could give that a try. Perhaps migrate the VM between two hosts could clear up the issue as well.
