"Keep existing VMFS partitions"-option for Kickstart

Hello,

i try to install ESX 3.5 Update 2 with an scripted installation. My problem ist the "Disk Partitioning Setup", because the installation will only run if i use "clearpart --all".

When i use "clearpart --all" i will loose my local VMFS partition with some VMs on it.

When i install ESX manual i will be ask if i want to keep existing VMFS partitions!

Is there any option for the Kickstart File to do this?

Thanks,

Ralf

Hello Steve,

i will try this.

I didn't used this option so far, because i thought this can't delete NTFS Partitions.

UPDATE:

this will be the best solution.

clearpart --linux will be the only solution for a scripted installation to keep VMFS partitions at the moment.

Thanks Steve.
