"HA Agent has an error" every 15 minutes on 2 new hosts

I have just put 2 new hosts in my cluster and I keep getting the "HA agent has an error" on them about every 15 minutes. It is not telling me what the error is and it corrects itself within a few minutes. Any Ideas?

Hi,

I had the exact same problem 2 days ago.

This is related 99% of the time to.

1- Check you dns servers and try to ping each host from every host.

- if dns not working properly, you can edit /etc/hosts file and add the other hostnames and their ips.

like : 10.10.10.10 hostname.domain.com hostname

2- Chech time and if possible use an NTP server

Regards

For us it was the the servers were not pointing to the right DNS.

Check you dns settings : cat /etc/resolv.conf

Regards

It's sometime necessary to unconfigure and reconfigure HA to clear these issues. Simply uncheck the HA box at the cluster level and watch the tasks until all agent configurations are complete. Then check the box and if you really don't have any issues you should be OK again.

The missing DNS shortnames are the most common error.

I double checked the DNS, host file and FT_HOSTS file and they all looked good. I then tried disable HA for the whole cluster and reenabling it. Now I only have 1 server that is doing it but as far as I can see everything is correct on it.
