"Error: The operation is not allowed in the current state"

Hi All,

I'm having some troubles with one specific host ESX Vms.

When I try to mount a CDrom, I get the error message on vm console : The operation is not allowed in the current state.

this occurs on all vms on thiss specific host.

I've noted either, that even if the server has vmtools installed the host can't see it, and because of this I get the same error message when I try to take a snapshot from those VMs.

Please help me!!

Thanks all!!

Confusions like this would normally be cleared by restarting the host daemon, 'service mgmt-vmware restart' at the service console.

Does the restart will restart vms?

No, VMs power state is unaffected.

Does the restart will restart vms?

There are situations where it can happen.

Patch ESX-7557441 should fix that for version 3.0.1.

In that time, I had automatic startup active for some vms.. and all vms restarted..!

But was only test environment...

Thanks for the answer, it solved my problem...
