opening port on firewall problem

I have ESX3.5 build 82663

esxcfg-firewall --o 12000,tcp,out,avepoint

or

esxcfg-firewall --o 12000,tcp,in,avepoint

command does not return any errors. But I do not see the ports are being opened in VC?

Hi Max,

You can check that your configuration was accepted by querying the firewall configuration: "esxcfg-firewall -q".

Option for esxcfg-firewall to open a port is "-o" or "openPort". I don't know if "o" is valid...
