I want to add to 2 items to $path for when I su to root. I know enough to know I am supossed to be using sudo, and use "su -" to get to root, so I get the profile, but I want to add these directories for ovo commands
/opt/OV/bin
/opt/perf/bin
I looked in /home, but dont see a profile for root, and once I find the correct file, is it as simple as just adding "export PATH=$PATH:/opt/OV/bin;/opt/perf/bin" to the end?
Thanks
Mike
added following to end of /etc/profile and it seems to be working please update me if there is a better way
PATH=$PATH:/opt/OV/bin:/opt/perf/bin
export PATH
Thanks
