The server did not respond quickly enough. I typically remove the getting started pages, but the vi client is very much like a web browser in that you'll get these issues when the server does not send the pic in time. You should be able to click another tab, and click back, and your images should be there.
Otherwise, you can also go into your client, edit client settings, remove getting started tabs.
