mapping Lun numbers to virtual machines

Hi folks ,

In VMWare ESX 3.0.1 is there a way to map the LUNs in /proc/scsi/scsi to the guest to which this LUN is attached to as an RDM or to the guest which has its OS installed

i have lun 123 attached to a guest as an RDM - is there way via command line to confirm what guest is using this LUN in its *.vmdk files?

Thanks much for any hints/clues/advise

-Balu

You need to start by looking into the virtual machine's .vmx[/b] file.

This shows the virtual adapter and target number, what type of RDM this is and the destination: a .vmdk 'pointer file', which can further be checked with vmkfstools[/b] or a direct link to a vmkbaA:T:L device.
