loosing heartbeat after upgrading from 3.0 to 3.5

Hi to all.

I've happily own a IBM x3400 with vmware 3.0.2 installed on it and some virtual machines running on it.

While covered with the warranty i was elegible to download the update to the 3.5 so I did. Easy going process, by the way. Insertd CD, next, next, next, done.

Date of the update process: September 7th.

A couple of days later (September 11) I've got an error:

2:08:33:35.712 cpu0:1065)NMI: 1625: Faulting eip:esp

2:08:35:35.714 cpu1:1072)Heartbeat: 470: PCPU 0 didn't have a hearbeat for 182 seconds. may be locked up.

After a while (October 7) again.

This thing is making me worry about the updating idea.

Does anybody have an idea why this is coming out and how to solve it?

Could be an hardware problem, the server still on warranty.

Attached you'll se the photo of the two errors 11092009908.jpg is the 11 september one, 07102009942.jpg is the october one.

Thanks in advance!

Cesare

Hi, I would look at stress testing your hardware. Also noticed that in both of your screenshots that there is an aacraid error. Might be an idea to see if your RAID controller is supported under 3.5 and if there aer any conditions etc...

Thanks,

Neil
