Hi all,
Can someone tell me how I set this please? I get the feeling this is something you do when installing esx and creating the vmfs partition. How do I find out what my swap space is currently set to and can I change it without reinstalling esx?
many thanks,
paul
Hello,
The swap space seen with swapon -s is used only by the Service Console and does not affect the vmkernel. Over utilizing the SC will affect the complete machine however.
Swap space for each VM is created with the VM and that the vmkernel uses.
What swap is of interest to you?
Best regards,
Edward
Running the command swapon -s at the console will display the size and usage. The swap partition is created at installation. There may be a way to expand it but I don't know the particulars.
