Hi!
I have two ESX 3.5 Servers, almost exactly the same hardware setup with an Intel Mainboard
and a CoreDuo Quad CPU. the first one has Update 2 installed (this one runs fine!) the second
one has Update 4 installed.
I setup the second machine in April (uptime now 160 days) with a base insatllation disc
containing ESX 3.5 update 4. Yesterday I saw in the performance graphs, that this machine
uses 100% of one CPU core. Looking via TOP on the CLI I found that the process calld "kipmi"
uses this many cpu power:

I searched the community and also with google, and found some things, but nothing helped:
I tried restarting the pegasus service with "/etc/init.d/pegasus restart", I also tried to kill
the process with -9, but I can not stop this process from running
For now I did not try a restart of the host, as I suspect it will come back
after restarting....
What else can I do?
Regards,
Prahn
