iscsi not working with EVA 5000

Hi all,

Situation:

5 ESX servers, version 3.5 without updates, working flawlessly.

One virtual switch to be used by icsi inititator: including 1 vmkernel pg with ip in vlan 404 and 1 sc pg in vlan 404

Iscsi target also in vlan 404, specs:HP EVA 5000 HSV110 Version 3110, Command view versie 6.0.2.37.

Iscsi is not working, I have opened port 3260 on firewall, enabled iscsi, entered ip of EVA iscsi target on sw iscsi initiator config and also entered the iniator ip in the EVA iscsi target.

I am able to add the esx server on the EVA iscsi target , but when i rescan the ESX sw iscsi intiator nothing happens. The logs don't show anything useful either.

I have heard that maybe the command view version of the EVA might be too old.

Anyone have any ideas?

When I use the MS iscsi intitiator on a Windows machine, it is possible to connect to the EVA and add a new disk.

What might be the problem?

BK

Hello,

I would contact HP Storage support for this. Most people use an EVA 5K with FC support not iSCSI.
