is that expected that system purple screen after a lun deletion?

Hello all,

We have an ESX running with VMware ESX Server 3.5.0 build-82663 and encountered purple screen.

The problem seems to be caused by the deletepath of vmhba1:2:29 (on MSA storage), if so, is this an expected result of system crash as the OS is not on the deleted LUN.

No. However was this path part of an extent? If so that could cause the problem. You should look at the system crash output to determine where the problem occurred.
