hi
I've converted a physical NT 4.0 machine using VMware Converter 3.0.3 to the network share.
I've there vmdk and vmxfiles.
Howto import now to ESX 3.5 Update2?
Hello.
You could use the datastore browser from the virtual infrastructure client and upload these files to a newly created folder on one of your datastores. Once the copy is complete, while still in the datastore browser, right-click on the .VMX file and choose the "Add to Inventory" option.
Good Luck!

Thx, but with datastore browser I cannot browse on the network.
Should I transfer first to ESX using for example WinSCP client?

You could copy the files over to where you are using the datastore browser or try to use the datastore browser on the server where the files are.

Using WinSCP is basically the same thing as using the datastore browser. Either one will work just fine.
Import files from a network share to the ESX is not a problem.
I've imported ALL files, then I've done "Add to Inventory", but this VM won't start.
There is a big problem with network adapter and the hard disk.
