help needed with setting resource reservations

I have one "different" esx3 machine, which will only host 3 virtual machines. The server has 32GB of ram, but very limited disk space. I noticed from previous posts that I could get rid of the vswap files by setting resource reservations for memory matching the amount allocated to the virtual:

virtual 1 RHEL4: 16GB ram

virtual 2 Win XP SP2: 4GB ram

virtual 3 RHEL4 (not created yet) ~4GB ram

In other words, there will be no over allocation of memory.

But here comes the strange part. I set reservation for virtual 1:

with reservation and limit both at the allocated amount of memory (just under 16GB). This went through fine, but now it's only allowing me to allocate 256MB of memory reservation to virtual 2. I tested lowering reservations for Virtual 1, and removing the limit, but this makes no difference.

Since memory is not overallocated I don't really care about setting reservations for it. My sole motivation is to free unneeded disk usage by getting rid of the .vswap files.
