Check you VLans on the cisco switch, also the DNS host entries.

Did you set an IP address for the Service Console during the install? Did you use DHCP? You can log in to the SC and do the following:

1) Type esxcfg-vswitch -l to see if you have any vswitches configuered

2) Type esxcfg-vswif -l to see if you have a service console interface configured.

3) Type esxcfg-nics -l to see if you NIC's are connected.

Since you just installed 32039, I would highly recommend you start with ESX 3.02 (52542).

This includes previous patches, it will save you problems later, and you will be FULLY up to date, and perhaps may solve this issue.

check your network configuration

vi /etc/sysconfig/network

vi /etc/hosts

vi /etc/resolv.conf (NB important on this one at the top search Yourdomain.com)

service network restart

Also check Dns & Routing under configuration in VI

hope this helps
