esx cpu usage high

hi there

i have two esx 3.5 servers. one has five vms on it and the other has six. under the performance tab of the second server the cpu only spikes to 2000 mhz at the most. the other host spikes up to 6000 mhz for some reason even though the vms on it only take up 3 ghz, any reason why this could be happening??

Using CPU graph both for ESX and VM to see where is the load.

Consider also to use esxtop.

Are the VMs single CPU or do they have multiple vCPUs?
