esx 3.5 hostd.log files - Journal file creation failed!

Hi I am after some advice. I am getting an error about journal file creation failed in virtual centre when I am trying to migrate or clone VMs. I looked the error up in the VMware KB and read the article about looking at the var/log directory for disk space issues. I have found one of our esx servers has 100% in the var/log directory. so I need to remove some files.

Can I remove old HOSTD.log files are they are all around 5mb in size and some have not been modified for a few months? Also is there any way to have a regular host keeping job which refreshed or removes old log files.

Any help would be grateful.

Thanks

Austin

Yes, you can delete those files - no problem.

There's a KB for that too: Freeing space when the /var/ partition is full
