esx 3.0.2 and console display ...

hi all!

recently, we have upgraded our system from vcenter 2.0.1 to vcenter 2.0.2 ... and noticed that the console display of the vms takes quite a while to load ... ~10 seconds ... which wasn't the case when we were using 2.0.1 ...

has anyone else faced this problem? and is this a bug in vcenter 2.0.2?

can this be rectified?

plz help!

regards,

ahmed

I've had exactly this ping latency problem. It looks like a bug. This issue has already been discussed on this forum.

I "upgraded" 3.01 over 3.02 and it works fine now.

It's not a VC bug, it's an ESX bug.

so what do you suggest ???

backroll to vcenter 2.0.1 or degrade the esx servers to 3.0.1?

i had esx 3.0.2 and vcenter 2.0.1 ... and it worked fine ...

I had 3.0.2 and vcenter 2.0.1 and I had ping latencies. I never had a chance to upgrade to VC 2.02.

Since I didn't have that much time to correct the problem, I decided to move back to ESX 3.01 and see to it at a later time. (That was last week)

I still have one test server with 3.02, and I still have ping latencies. It is managed by a VC 2.01 that manages 2 other tests servers with ESX 3.01. The server with 3.02 has the problem, the other two don't.

My suggestion ? Move back to 3.01
