error on VM 3.5 console

6571_6571.jpg

Hi,

Our VMware server 3.5 console has been showing the error for some time now, though the server responds to VC 2.5 and all VM installed are workingfine, but the logs are full of the error displayed above. Any idea what could be the reason. The server boots for a SAN device via FC and VMFS is also on the SAN but different array. I have tried doing UpdateManager to upgrade, it updates, but theerror remains.

Do I need to reinstall the server. If yes how do I take the configuartion backup?

Your help is appreciated

Looks like you have lost a path to your storage device or lost a LUN - No need to reinstall anything.

Your config is backed up in the state.tgz.

The backup is run in the first minute of every hour.

Check /var/spool/cron/crontabs/root

To manually kick off a backup, run /sbin/auto-backup.sh

One day I will virtualise myself . . .

MHAV - thanks, is there away to find out what was lost, as I am still able to boot from theSAn and do not have any data missing

bulletprooffool - I do not see the ../cron/crontabs dir or the /sbin/auto-backup.sh. Did a SSH to server.

use VC-Client select your ESX-Host, Configuration Tab - hardware - Storage Adapters - Select your HBA and check in the details field below if you can see all all LUNs. You also should get back with your SAN Admin they might help you out.
