downgrade esx 3.5 U1 to ESX 3.0.2

Hi,

Because of some incompatibility between IBM Director extension ServRAID Manager Agent and ESX 3.5 U1, we to downgrade ESX to 3.0.2, Otherwise we not able to monitor our storage as well as remote management is not working. We also Use VC 2.5 U2.

Can we downgrade ESX with only reinstalling to ESX 3.0.2? Do we have to reinstall vmware tools on the VM's? Do anybody have experience with downgrading? Is this supported from VMWare?

I know I haven't tested this, but in my head I don't see why it shouldn't work. I would strongly consider doing this on a box that you don't care about first, uninstall vmtools, vmotion it back to a 3.0.2 box then re-install the vmtools on the 3.0.2 box and see how it runs. Again I haven't tested this so I can't tell you for sure but something worth testing.
