copying vm(s) from one esx3.0 to another esx3.0

I was trying to copy from vmfs to vmfs using smbmounter:

/usr/sbin/vcbMounter -h engr-vserv1.server.com -u root -p -a moref:736 -r scp://root@128.233.22.225:/vmfs/volumes/storage1/sess

-one problem is the VM is to big and fills up the / partiotion is there a way to specifiy a different location for the tmp files? like use the /vmfs drive?

-if not what are my options mount the remote esx3.0 vmfs NFS

and then use smbmount to drop it directly?

-as wel when I use vcbmounter I get a bunch of little files (vmdks ) can this be changed since its vmfs to vmfs
