console vswif0 does not response on ibm 3650

It looks like the switch vswif0 does not receive packets nor transmits packets on 3.0.2 version. Is it a known issue?

Hi

Try to add another Nic to the vswif0 instead of the build in Broadcom. I have seen that the Broadcom adaptor has issues with the console.

Preferable an Intel nic.

There is a known issue with slow response from the service console, i.e. 5-10ms where it should be 1ms.

Does the command "esxcfg-nics -l" show that your physical NIC is "connected"? Can you ping the IP address of the service console from another device on the network? Are you sure your VLAN config (if any) is set up correctly?

esxcfg-vswif -l will also give you some useful troubleshooting information.

I have used the other broadcom nic and it worked. It just you need to use the exact NIC you have chosen for console during installation process....
