Is there is a tool, 3rd party or Vmware native, which can be used to compare esx servers networking configurations?
Bill Griffith
Don't know if there's a tool.
I usually diff the output of the different esxcfg commands (esxcfg-info -n, esxcfg-vswitch -l,...).
Thanks for the tip. I am looking at the map function in VC. That seems to get close.
Bill
There are also a few 3rd party utilities that do reporting on ESX servers...
Vizioncore esxCharter (reporting) - http://vizioncore.com/products.html
VIDocIt (reporting) - http://www.vidocit.com/html/products.html
Veeam Reporter (reporting) - http://veeam.com/veeam_reporter.asp
Platespin PowerRecon (reporting) - http://www.platespin.com/products/index.aspx
Up.Time (monitoring/reporting) http://www.uptimesoftware.com/vmware.php
Hyperic HQ for VMware (monitoring/reporting) - http://www.hyperic.com/products/managed/vmware-management.htm
ESX Diag (reporting) - http://www.veeam.com/free-script/
Try our product called Veeam Reporter. Actually, it was named Best of VMWorld 2007 in the utility categories.
Sergey,
When recommending your own product please make it clear you are doing so as an employee of the company. I would say you are coming egregiously close to violating terms of use, as this is the second post of yours I've seen this morning touting your company and not stating that you work for them.
I've changed my messages to comply with your statement.
