Hi.
For performance reasons I would like to change the default path location where the vmss files are created when the VM gets suspended.
By default these files are stored on the same folder of the .vmx file. I am wondering if there is a way to tell the ESX server to create the vmss file on a different datastore.
Any help is highly appreciated.

The suspended .vmss file location can be change but not sure about ESX 3.5/4.0, you can read this guide for details

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately that option is not available for ESX server 3.5.
Just for everyone benefit there is an option on the vmx file that allows you to change the working directory of the VM.
By adding to the vmx file:
workingDir = "your path"
The ESX server will create the vmss and snapshot files on the specified path.
