can it be setup to increase the maximum number of Ethernet Adapater inside VM ?

using esx 3.5 and created an vm of windows 2003 RC2 standard . VM configuration wizard gives out the maximum number of ethernet adapater is 4 . can it be increased over 4 like ESX 4 ?

Is not possible.

It depends by virtual hardware version, and ESX 3.x support only v4.
