a required license VirtualCenter agent for ESX server is not reserved error

Hi,

I'm busy with 3 ESX server hosts but in the events there are still appearing messages as "a required license VirtualCenter agent for ESX server is not reserved ".

When I look in VC a indeed see that still 1 VirtualCenter Agent for ESX license Server is still remaining. I know which ESX server host is missing the license because when I look into the license option of the ESX server host I see the VirtualCenter agent for ESX Server add-0n has the status "Unlicensed Use"

What to do?

Thanks in advance

Try to restart this services:

service vmware-vpxa restart

service mgmt-vmware restart

does that help?

Hello Gebbie and Cheeko

I have the same problem with a demo system i have installed , only problem is i have only 1 host in this system so i cannot start any virtual machines on this host because it tells me " not enough licenses" also it says that it cannot find the license source " virtual_center"... any ideas ?
