If I copy ie. ISO directly to 2Gb fibre SAN VMFS volume with ie Veem FastSCP then the speed is what I would expect/accept
But if I copy either:
- file copy to W2K3 NTFS partition (as separate vmdk file on the same SAN) from physical server share
- Ghost image restore to vmdk file from physical (different then above) server
- Portlock TCP client/server restore to NetWare NSS volume (also as vmdk file)
the speed is less then acceptable (actually it is tragic @ 200 kbs). And it is VM OS independent
It is not a network issue (as per first sentence - all running on same cabling)
All VM feel responsive all the time, it is only the copy TO vmdk files that is problematic
Anybody has any insights?
