Would like ability to (re)name (old)new vmdks

At the moment i have to

  1. add new disk to vm

  2. remove vmdk from vm

  3. ssh & rename vmdk

  4. add existing disk to vm (and point at renamed vmdk)

If you have more than one datastore, you can re-name the VM as it appears in VirtualCenter, shutdown the VM and then migrate the VM to a different datastore. Once you power-on the VM, this should rename the .vmdks to match the name of the VM.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for.
