Virtual Machine NIC settings

Hello All ,

Looking for best practice for VMs Nic settings

Under a VM does it makes sense or does it gives us any benefit if setting a fix configuration (speed and duplex) on a vNIC or not? In other words, should we just leave the vNICs in auto-negotiation mode Or change it .

I would suggest use autonegotiate inside the VM. That would come under VMware best practices.

I would suggest, go for autonegotiate. It will take the speed that is configured.
