Virtual Machine Automatic Startup Failure

Hi,

Is there a log file in VC or ESX that may indicate why a VM that was configured to auto-start when the physical host starts did not do so?

Of 15 VMs hosted on this particular ESX server, only one failed to auto-start. Linux guest.

ESX is 3.0.2 Build 52542. VC 2.0.2 Build 62327.

TIA.

Do you have a supported Linux Guest OS, such as RedHat or SuSE?

And, did you install the VMtools on that guest OS?

The guest is RHEL4. Tools were installed, although the server has been patched since the original tools install, so they are now showing out-of-date.

I have asked the Linux admin to update those tools.
