I currently have 2 ESX 3.01 hosts connected to a Virtual Center 2.01. I want to add a test ESX host so that I can apply patches etc to that before doing anything to my 'live' system.
I tried to purchase the 'Starter' licence but was told it was no longer available and thus ended up with 'Foundation'.
I am now informed by VMWare that my new licence file is not compatible with my version of virtual center!
All I want to do is add another ESX 3.01 server to my existing set up. From what I'm being told, this seemingly simple task is now not possibe.
Will I have to upgrade my Virtual center server to use my new licence file, and if so will my existing hosts carry on without any other work?
