I tried what solutions I could find in these Forums and nothing seems to work.
I have a WinXP w/sp2. I've installed vpxclient version 2.0 and it will not work. Each time I start it I get this error:
Applicatoin has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0x142c (5164), Thread id=0x171c (5916)
click OK to terminate the application
click CANCEL to debug the application
I have .NET 1.1, 2 & 3 installed and do NOT have any other existing VMware products installed.
Please help!
It's definately an OS related issue, not VPX client. Did you try doing a registry fix?
As mentioned several times in different threads, almost all of the problems with VI client 2.5 can be fixed by removing 3rd party software that install stuff in the Networking stack.
Try removing any Wireless utilities that came with your system (for me it was the Intel Proset Wireless software), or other network management software.
What registry fix?
Any other ideas? Has anyone else had ths issue? thanks.
These messages seem to be poiting to corruption in .net. Have you tried removing .net 1.1 and reinstalling the VIC?
thanks for responding Troy. Yes, I tried your suggestion yesterday and NO GO! I still get the same error.
I would try re-installing all .net versions from the redistributables...
