Myself, Ron Olgesby and Scott Herold have released a FREE sample chapter of our eagerly expected book. The PDF is free, and a hard-copy can be bought for a nominal fee. Remember this is not the full book just a free sample chapter. Enjoy!

Thanks Mike, Ron, Scott
The preview chapter has a good taste, It is time for a good lunch now
I hope to preorder the complete book on Amazon as soon as possible!
If you do not like the whole "Register to download for free" thing, you can also snag a copy direct from http://www.vi3book.com.
Scott
I did from vi3book site, it is very simple and fast!
The front cover is very nice, simple, great, Fiat Lux!
Actually, in my haste to tell everyone about it - i made an error - its actually 3 chapters in the sample download... Is that right Scott?
Regards
Mike
You mean you didn't even read it? Yes, it is 3 fun-filled chapters. I just finished going through it and found very few errors compared to our last attempt at writing a book. I can tell where I ran out of juice on the last paragraph of the Business Continuity chapter. It's almost like I'm speaking a different language at the end. I'll make sure we get it updated for the final print.
Scott
Actually, I didn't have the time... so I haven't read it yet... I've already had an email about possible tech-error - but actually, i think its a misunderstanding on the part of the reader... but I will double-check. If its a misunderstanding then caused by something i wrote, then I needs clarifying...
Regards
Mike
Why in the downloadable PDF are the chapters out of order??
At least they are out of order in the file I downloaded, Chapter 1 is at the end instead of at the beginning.
Or are you all assuming that all your readers have already installed ESX 40-50 times already??
Thanks for posting it, looking forward to the real book soon.
Thank you, Tom
P.S. I think printing it costs less than ordering it unless one's printer is quite expensive.
Remember, this is two books. The chapters are in order as far as we are concernted. Book 1 is the design guide, Book 2 is the "How To" admin guide. Need to know what you are going to do before you actually do it. When you see Chapter 1, it is the first chapter of the second book.
Scott
Ohhhhhh...I didn't realize that OR I missed whatever probably obvious place that it was stated for everyone to see that it's two books.
Thanks for explaining.
Thank you, Tom
by chance just downloaded this about 5 mins ago. Whens the release date out of interest?
Good read so far.
Not sure if this is pre-proof reading or not but just in case; Page 24, last Paragraph reads -
"Finally, with centralized models your template deployments can become as
issue."
I guess that should read "an issue".
