Verify updates are working

I have 2 3.5 esx servers and 1 2.5 Virtual center.

Is there a way I can verify that updates are being automatically downloaded/installed to my esx servers? I was told that it was automatic by the company that installed it, but I would like to know how to check it for peace of mind.

Thanks!

pg 28 shows how to schedule remediation...that may be what you want. I personally don't automate this as I want to manually patch my hosts...

can you just run esxupdate query on the esx hosts and verify the installed bundles? It should provide esx patch numbers as well as install date.

no, you are missing patches.

http://support.vmware.com/selfsupport/s3portal.portal?_nfpb=true&_windowLabel=SearchPatch&SearchPatc...

It looks to me like 3.5 was installed and all the patches were applied at the same time. After that, no patches have been installed. Go to the above link or go to downloads for VI3 and choosed patches and you will find an up to date list of patches for your servers.

That guide is exactly what I needed. Thank you.

I guess I was supposed to re-install the update manager after installing esx3.5 and vc2.5 becuase it wasn't installed anymore.
