We are looking at deploying some ESX servers that are not reachable by us at client locations and want to have them "phone-home" when they are connected to the web so we can ssh to them.
An alternative method would be build a linux guest and just have it's sole function be to start on boot and keep attempting to dial a vpn connection and have it set up to talk to the COS. The only issue with that is that we wouldn't know the COS ip unless we set it prior to shipping.
