VMware Server 2 IP routing

Hello I've searched everywhere I could possibly think for trying to get the answer to my question and I just can't get a clear answer.

I have a VMware Server 2 setup on a CentOS 5.6 operating system.  I have two public IP addresses using aliases.  One is named eth0 and the other eth0:0.  I want one of the virtual machines that I plan to create to use eth0:0's IP instead of eth0's IP.  I'm kind of new to Linux and I'm not sure how to do it.  I've read about people using 'ip route add' and 'iptables' and I just can't find a clear answer to what I'm trying to do.  If somebody could give me a simple and clear explaination on how to do with, perhaps with examples that would be so great.
