VMware Monitoring Tools

What are the best free VMware monitoring tools available? I'm also looking for any great monitoring tools that also cost money.

Thanks

the best free tool to monitor is Veeam Monitor Free edition ( http://www.veeam.com/esxi-monitoring-free.html)

if you have the budget, Veeam Monitor (http://www.veeam.com/vmware-esx-monitoring.html) does a pretty good job

other options are:

Vizioncore vFoglight ( http://www.vizioncore.com/products/vFoglight/)

eG VM Monitor (http://www.eginnovations.com/web/vmware.htm)

vKernel Capacity Analyzer (http://www.vkernel.com/products/CapacityAnalyzer/)

obviously, you cannot miss VMware AppSpeed (http://www.vmware.com/products/vcenter-appspeed/) and VMware vCenter (http://www.vmware.com/products/vcenter-server/index.html) which combined do a terrific job in monitoring and solving performance issues

and the hardware companies (HP,DELL, IBM, etc) have very good tools that integrate very good with VMware

I hope this gives you a good idea

I would like something a little bit better then the virtual client when it comes to monitoring my VM's and ESX servers. We are a small company. We have 4 ESX and about 20 VM's.

Have you seen zenoss core? With a little bit of work you can get a fully functional monitoring system for your ESX Servers and your virtual servers.

If you find this information useful, please award points for "correct" or "helpful"

Solarwinds only allows you to monitor one ESX server.

For free tools . .

I'd suggest checking out Cacti and also look at what Spiceworks have to offer.

One day I will virtualise myself . . .
