VMware 3.5: Who is the default owner of all the logs?

As the title states, regarding the following logs, who owns these when you install ESX from scratch?

/var/log/vmkernel

/var/log/vmkwarning/

var/log/vmksummary

/var/log/vmware/hostd.log

/var/log/messages

/var/log/secure

If I wanted to change the owner of the logs from the default, how would I go about doing that?

root is the default owner. Syslog writes most of those files so I would start there for changing the owernership.

All I want to know is who is the default owner, is it the root account? Also if there an option to change this if required to do so? This is needed info for security compliance.

You can easily check owner by logging in to ESX via ssh and 'ls -la'. You can even change the owner by 'chown', but I'm not really sure you should do that.
