VMDK Disks unavailable after reboot

Hello,

I have a VMware ESX 3.0 server connected with Disk Array (1.5 TB). I am facing problem as the server is unbale to open volumes created on Disk Array & thus VMs created using storage on Disk Array are not coming up. This happened after a reboot after scheduled shutdown.

In the status of VMware Server, I am unable to see second volume. First voume that is created on the main server hard disks is healthy.

Is there any way to bring back the system in normal state?

Regards

So the 1.5TB Disk Array is direct attached storage (SCSI) to the ESX?

Has this this storage had a hardware failure i.e. drives or cabing?

If the LUNS on the device (Direct attached or whatever) are operational you may be able to bring the datastore back online. If not I would hope you had backups in place.

Check the /var/log/vmkernel file for any warnings/erros.

Hello,

Run 'fdisk -l' from the CLI. Did your VMFS partition in use loose its partition information? If so then you may have a corruption, bad cable, port, etc.
