VM subnet configuration

Hello,

I have an ESX server 3.5 machine with 1 physical NIC hosting 4 VMs of Win2k8 server R2. I have all the VMs configured to be with the same NIC with all the IP addresses in the same subnet.

Now my requirement is to put all these VMs to multiple subnets on the same ESX server. Another requirement is that I would need my VMs to communicate with 3 other external systems that are outside the ESX server.

Is this possible to achieve this configuration? Do I need to add a new NIC to the physical server or is it not required? Pointers on the steps to do this will be of great help.

Thanks

ssvk

Welcome to the Forums - for redundancy you should add anoth physical NIC but your current configuration should work as long as you have a physical router configured to router traffic between the different subnets -
