VM constantly working?

Hi All,

I have two physical ESX servers, and few VM working on HA. VM are stored on SAN storage. I have no problem with HA, but when I switch off one of the ESX server the second ESX take over rest of the VM, but these VM start working from boot (entire system is booting from the begining).

My concern is if it is possible using the ESX servers to run VM constantly. I mean if one of the ESX servers dies the second one take over the VM's imminently (with memory status etc.).

For example if I am watching the movie on one VM(ESX1) and this machine die would I be able to watch this movie without stop on the second ESX?

Thanks for any helps.

Regards,

Pawel

Don't think that is possible yet. But coming with VMware fault tolerance.

Hi Jayolsen,

that is what I want to archive, I think when VMware realised the product it would by wonderful. Do you know when in 2009 they going to do it?

Thanks,

Pawel
