VM console = black window

@ all...

I have following problem.

with our VC we manage approx. 10 servers ESX. An ESX came to that now in PARIS and here I do not see any picture in the VM console. The window is black. Smiley Sad

It can hang with the data link together. It is only one in 256 KB connection between VC and this ESX.

For my check i did installVI client on one server on same network location and all working fine.

Only by this connection over the 256 kb line I can't see the Windows desktop.

Any idea for my?

Many thanks for your help.

Best regards

Peter

Hi Peter, this may help out. Are there any firewalls between the ESX host and the VC server? Does it work if you connect directly with the VI client?

Are you using NAT or have any firewalls? When you connect to VC and remote console to a VM it opens a new connection directly to the ESX host that the VM is located on using port 903.

many thanks for your fast answer.

I will check tomorrow, but today I did speak with the firewall admin and any port are open in the firewall.

I will change the string in the config file and let you know if it's working.
