I have been reading through the ESX Server config guide and saw that "VM Cluster" is only supported by FC storage. This isn't really explained anywhere. What is meant by a VM Cluster?
A cluster in this case refers to Windows clustering services. It's a service they use to make 2 Windows machines access the same storage simultaneous for fail over, mostly used by SQL or Web / Data products so if a Window box dies another Windows box carries the data load and the environment doesn't go down. FC is the fastest, least latent data access protocol there is, also most expensive, that's why its supported only on FC.
