VI 3.5 licenses mix

Hi,

my company has several ESX hosts organized in clusters, covered with VI 3 Enterprise host licenses. Now, we would like to consolidate our virtual servers and to classify them into groups of servers, which require :

-only ESXi license w/o VC monitoring,

-only Foundation license features

-only Standard license features

-Enterprise license features

My question is: is it possible to have such mix of differently licenced ESX/ESXi hosts ?

Thanks for your time!

Regards,

Aleksandar

You can not manage free ESXi's with vCenter at all, and you can not add ESXi Foundation to vCenter Standard.

So only Standard and Enterprise servers remain. You can set up 2 different license servers or implement hast-based licensing for this.
