Hi all,
we are sizing the VCB Proxy and we need to know what are the requirement of the physical machine and, if there are, the limits of ESX HOSTS/Vitual Machine that we can backup via VCB.
In the documentation i don't find anything about this aspect....
Many Thanks
You can have up to 60 mounts per VCB session, nut the only real limit to the number of VMs you can back up is the time and bandwidth it takes to complete the backups. Usually, you should only back up two or three servers at once for performance. The more you add to a backup job, the less efficient it is.

Have a look here: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/103356?tstart=0

Neo,
Please go through Page 2 on this document to fine Storage Maximums.
That doc does not include VCB maximums..
Hi there,
Little late to add something tio this thread. You mention 60 mounts per VCB session, I assume you mean 60 mounts maximum per proxy host at a time. Now I notice that disks are mounted as a letter and as a digit. Does this mean 30 disks maximum per host at a time ?
Thanks.

Ronald
Ronald -
As far as I know, it means 60 mounts. Not 30 digits and 30 letters. The digits and letters are actually the same mounts.

Thanks, I assumed it was this way, so got the planning right 😃
